The Bedouin woman with children in the dessert of the United Arab Emirates…..the Uigures in the west of China… the Punks at the countryside …. – in the beginning they all had the fear to get photographed. I approach the people slowly. Previously, I showed them Polaroid’s and currently my digital camera display to gain their trust. They see themselves, the way I see them – and therefore I also see myself. Finally when they like both, I can take comfortably my photographs.

Die Beduinenfrau mit Kindern in der Wüste der Vereinigte Arabische Emiraten … die Uiguren im Westen Chinas … der Punk auf dem platten Land … - sie alle hatten anfangs Angst abgelichtet zu werden.
Ich gehe langsam auf die Menschen zu. Früher zeigte ich ihnen Polaroids heute sehen sie ins Display meiner Digitalkamera, um ihr Vertrauen zu gewinnen. Sie sehen sich, wie ich sie sehe – und damit sehen sie auch mich. Erst wenn ihnen beides gefällt, kann ich sie entspannt fotografieren.
