“To be able to take photographs of people the way they are, you have to earn their trust:”

Holland is my home. But each time I return there is always something new to discover. What fascinates me about my former countrymen is how much and yet how little they have in common with the people of Hamburg. Their lifestyle causes me to pause and think – and there is always something interesting to take a photo of when I visit my family and friends. Then the country changes itself faster as many strangers thinking.
I’ am glad, that I can be part of it, although I do live in the distance.

Holland ist meine Heimat. Aber es gibt auch für mich immer wieder etwas zu entdecken. Mich faszinieren meine früheren Landsleute, die mit meinen Hamburgern so viel und doch so wenig gemein haben. Ihr Lebensstil reizt mich zum Innehalten – und es gibt immer etwas zu fotografieren, wenn ich Familie und Freunde besuche. Denn das Land ändert sich schneller als viel Fremde meinen
Ich bin froh, dass ich dabei sein kann, auch wenn ich in der Ferne lebe.
